IdealCraft - World of Wonders

Welcome to IdealCraft! This pack is designed to improve every aspect of Minecraft while preserving the essence of the game you know and love. To accomplish this, I have assembled a carefully curated collection of mods from wonderful authors and customized them to fit together seamlessly! There are new biomes, new creatures, new enemies, new weapons, new plants, new mechanics, new blocks, new structures, and LOTS of new foods (with reason to make them!). There's something for everyone to enjoy in IdealCraft!

Despite the changes, the core way that the game is played remains the same. With no complex, game-changing mods like Create or Mekanism, any Minecrafter can easily get into IdealCraft.

EXPLORATION: 

• IdealCraft features substantial improvements to all dimensions, including a ton of new biomes, and new structures found throughout the world. Witness scenic vistas from driest deserts to flooded rainforests, and explore everything from new, exotic villages to archeological digs, all with a vanilla feel! As you travel, there are many quality of life features, including horse carts, sacks, and other forms of mobile storage that may help you. Adventure awaits!

HUSBANDRY:

• If you get tired of exploring, why not settle down and farm for a while? From cooking to raising all the old and new animals, just about every aspect of the agrarian life has been improved. IdealCraft features lots of new crops to grow, and harvesting them has never been easier! And don't even get me started on all the delicious foods you can cook up!

TRANSPORTATION:

• Then again, how could you stay put when getting around your world has never been more fun? Almost every kind of transportation in the game has been improved. Minecarts have been massively improved. There are more boat types. Horses can be bound and summoned from anywhere, and even have an optional control mode. And if, after all that, you still want to fly, then rest assured that the elytra has not been left out!

BUILDING:

• Builders rejoice! IdealCraft comes with over 70 complete wood sets, and a plethora of new stone types! There are also many new block types to play around with, including the expanded copper and tuff block sets from 1.21. Like all the other features, building is intended to be vanilla-style, so mods like Chipped are avoided. You shouldn't get overwhelmed this way!

REDSTONE:

• For the technically inclined, we have a variety of new components you can use to construct your ingenious machinery. Some, like the ender-watcher, add new functionality, while others, like the chute and randomizer, simplify entire circuits into a single block. Also check out the new copper pipes, which greatly improve item transport.

COMBAT:

• Both PvE and PvP are a lot more interesting now. IdealCraft uses the Better Combat system, along with a number of other weapon and combat mods. There are also a few more armors to choose from, and some old armor sets have been given new advantages. You're going to need the new gear, too, if you want to face the creatures lurking in the dark corners of the world!

STORAGE:

• Needless to say, the biggest issue in the community has been addressed as well! Inventory management and storage have been enhanced with items like sacks, bundles, and even backpacks. Also try out the new keybinds and sorting buttons.

OPTIMIZATION:

• Enjoy massively improved performance, stability and loading times with a suite of advanced optimization mods. Yes, even my 2015 business laptop can run the game!

In the future, I would like to make a tutorial world to help new players learn about the features of IdealCraft. For now, though, I have added the amazing Tips mod, with a custom resource pack that includes over 200 (mostly) helpful hints for players.

If you want more info, I recommend reading up on some of the individual mods in the pack. Especially Quark, Supplementaries/Amendments, and Forgery. These mods in particular have a lot of random features to learn about.

IdealCraft already has popular datapacks and resource packs from Vanilla Tweaks. I recommend against removing these, as it may create some slight issues. Also, IdealCraft has HD shields and no Enderman griefing using mods.

Also check out More Biome Sizes by Vindi_ on Planet Minecraft. You can play around and see what sizes work best for you.

Note: using full bright and client-side minimap mods is not recommended. IdealCraft has built-in features that cover these areas.

The governing principles behind additions to IdealCraft are that mods must fit with the vanilla game, improve areas that could use improvement, and not expand one area of the game to the point where it feels out of proportion with the rest of the pack. They must also not fundamentally change the way the game is played (an example of a mod I won't add for this reason is Create). I also try to avoid adding features that make other features feel completely irrelevant.

Also, keep in mind that this is my personal passion project. It doesn't represent everyone's ideal vision of Minecraft… only mine.

There are a number of plans already in place for future updates. These include new mods, datapacks and scripts to further integrate existing mods with each other, and (possibly) new dimensions.
